The Timeless Elegance of Cartier Eyewear at The Eye Man: A Perfect Blend of Luxury and Style

Designer eyewear has allowed people who wear eyeglasses and those who love sunglasses to stand out from the crowd. You can find many designers and designs in the market if you look hard enough. However, one designer brand will always stand out of all the designer eyewear you can get.

Cartier eyewear has been around since late 1800 after they created a unique pair for a French princess. Since then, Cartier has been setting the bar higher for luxury and style in designer eyewear.

The Eye Man is proud to bring Cartier eyewear to our collections.

What is Cartier?

The brand Cartier can be traced to the name of the man who, in the mid-1800s, pushed the idea of creating luxury items while in a workshop with other craftsmen. When starting this venture, they mainly dealt with other jewelry and luxury items, all noted for exceptional work. But after creating the first pair of glasses for the French princess, they started a new journey into eyewear.

What Are Cartier’s Iconic Designs?

Cartier started crafting unique luxury eyewear for people who were willing to spend a little more for the status that the brand provided. They allowed people who did not have the bank for diamond-encrusted glasses to share the brand's prestige. They also created designs with a unique Cartier style that has been part of their portfolio over the past hundred years.

Some of their popular iconic designs include the following:

Panthère de Cartier

Better identified as an emblem of true and triumphant sensuality, the Panthère brand is one of Cartier’s most iconic brands. It traces its inspiration back to 1914 with Louis Cartier, who was taken by a muse, Jeanne Toussaint. Cutting through the decades, this design has stood defiantly and elegantly as a style that embodies luxury and beauty.

Santos de Cartier

This is another design that traces its inspiration over a hundred years ago with a watch design for a pilot, the first watch on leather straps. In the late 70s, this inspiration matured when the Santos de Cartier glasses were launched with their signature gold and steel match.

Trinity de Cartier

This uniquely Parisian line of designs embodies a new attitude of the beautiful city and the feminine elegance reminiscent of the first Cartier designs. The most iconic thing about this design is the shape of the frames and the Cartier interlocking bands on the side. The mix of the designs brings out a sophistication and allure that only the Cartier luxury and style can manage.

What Materials Do They Use?

Acetate

Probably the most recent addition to the materials on Cartier glasses, the acetate frames receive the same care and skill as wood or gold.

Lacquering

This skill is unique to the Panthère line, done by hand, painting, drying, and polishing.

Wood

Cartier was among the first glasses makers that used wood, but they took it to new levels that ensured more robust frames than simply using wood.

Gold

Cartier luxury is embodied in the 18-carat gold frames specially made in an independent workshop.

Horn

Also very delicate, Cartier's horn glasses are made with only a tiny part of the horn that can achieve the quality they want.
